That weird song

For anyone who owns a copy of this on dvd, there is a weird song that they use several times throughout the film (so weird that you will instantly know which one I'm talking about). I'm almost positive that it has been used before in another movie. Can anyone verify this?

Yes, that song (or theme) sounded familiar.

The recurrent BTK theme in The Hunt for the BTK Killer is incredibly similar to Thomas Newman's score for American Beauty, particularly the track Choking the Bishop, which can be heard here - http://www.last.fm/music/Thomas+Newman/_/Choking+the+Bishop?autostart

Although it wasn't musically similar, it did remind me of the repeated jarring notes in KILL BILL informing us that crap was about to go down.

Ugh. Just found this thread after answering same Q in another thread. If it's what I think you find irritating…it's ripping off "The Killing Fields." Totally. Mike Oldfield was nominated for a Golden Globe and a BAFTA for his soundtrack back in '84 -- which includes a very irksome portion… Tree Adams is "borrowing"… rather blatantly…here.

Yeah, that's the one they kept playing. It's like American Beauty. Enjoyed the movie but that music was awful.
