Why a blond haired guy playing him?

The real Dennis Rader has dark black hair. Why would they get a blond guy to play the serial killer?

Because Gregg Henry was the best actor for the job. I think he did an amazing job here, very believable. Especially the hearings at the end, wow, just Wow!

They didn't? The actor playing Rader has brown hair. Brown ≠ blond.

But in the context of the film, that doesn't matter. Had it been important I'm certain they would have had the actor dye his hark black.
