Does anyone know when Hack! is scheduled to be released? Also, if it will have a theatrical release, or go directly to DVD?

well steve i heard it was bought by a production company to be released in theatres, but unfortunelty i couldnt find any article proving this so im guessing its a rumor :(

According to director Matt Flynn's site, Hack! is set for a 2006 release. Yet, I haven't come across anything on the Internet, or elsewhere, about the film being picked up by a distributor, etc. Nothing re a pending release. Perhaps someone has heard something from a reliable source re the film's future.

Just curioius - how do you know about the October release date? (I haven't seen any info on this film.)

Also, is that a theatrical release, or direct to DVD release?

I very recently received an email from Mike Wittlin, executive producer of the film. In it, he states:

"...we are starting screenings for the movie at the end of December/early January for the domestic distributors...the movie's production value is great...and I think it will do very nicely...Forsythe fans will love his performance...it is not a spoof, but a true horror that has a good sense of humor (the crazy couple running this island are making a Horror/Reality movie to take to the film festivals...they start killing college kids in cliche horror fashion...they rip off well known and obscure horror movies to kill...so they are Hack's because they are ripping off horror movies to make the movie not because they are "hacking" people up).

I hope all of William's fans enjoy it, and help us get the word out."

Thanks for posting. It sounds like they've got a theatrical release in the works.

Mike had posted on a board devoted to Jay Kenneth Johnson back in late 2005. It was after the film's second rough cut. I haven't heard anything about Hack! since then, till now.
