How can you talk bad about this movie?

To all of you trashing this movie....are you complete dumbasses?? For real, this movie is a fantastic spoof/comedy of some fo the greatest horror flicks of all time. The cast being put together each from their respected horror films, and throwing out great lines and scenes from their movies is unmatched. I mean come on, seeing the actor that played Kyle Barnes in Karate Kid Part 3 actually throw out the line "your karate sucks" to a dude who just did the crane technique... classic! This is a lighthearted movie not intended to win any awards, it appeals to true horror fans out there... so to all of you calling this movie one of the worst films ever, trying to trash the director...get a farking life and save your amateur criticisms for somewhere else. Im sure 'rotten tomatoes' would LOVE your input.

Couldn't agree more with you...
..although i think that 3/10 it's very generous from you. :-D

I agree with H-Movie-Fan. This movie is far from good. Different people have different perspectives, and I view this movie as a complete rip-off. It sucked. There was no suspense at all. The only part even remotely close to being a shocker was finding out that Emily was behind the whole crime. Every part of this movie seems a bit too predictable. And it wasn't even fun because the victims didn't even struggle against the killers. I mean that's where the suspense will be. This movie just cuts all that and gets right into the death of everyone. Maybe if people watch some really good and decent scary, horror, thriller movies, you'll see how badly this movie compares to them.

They put up 2million for budget but it was actually under 1 million. I agree with you guys it really sucked and I would never rent it even as a gag. They could not even get a distributor for this pile of crap so they had to dump it on DVD and in the US a real schlock DVD distributor was the lucky one to get it Allumination. If they are lucky, they'll get their money back in lets say 50 years? This is what you get with a first time Director/Writer who incidentally was fired off the set.

I thought it was great fun. Even though it's not the first self-aware slasher they still managed to make it kind of original. I gave it an 8.

Yeah, even if you don't like this movie, you have to acknowledge that it's everything a B horror/comedy movie should be:

-Good death scenes
-Horror movie references (people from other horror movies, recreating their scenes/dialogue etc...)
-Lots of female nudity (not an excessive amount, but enough)
-Stereotypical roles meant to poke fun at stereotyping in hollywood (jock/nerd/homosexual etc...)

As long as most of the budget went to the death scenes, and it's funny as well as gory, it's a successful horror/comedy in my opinion...

Uh, what? I have to take issue with 'good death scenes' and 'lots of nudity'.

I actually think there was maybe one or 2 good death scenes, out of the maybe dozen or so. But nudity? You gotta be kidding me. One girl shows her boobs twice. That's it. If you call that 'lots' then you're seriously in need of perspective.

reply

These are called parenthesis: ()
When after a sentence, the words inside them still pertain to that sentence.
"-Lots of female nudity (not an excessive amount, but enough)"
Please reread that sentence, but the whole thing this time...

And i ask so little of films, that to me the death scenes were more than satisfying...but for you maybe they weren't, understandable...

"Prepare thyself. It's bloodshed time"

reply

Yeah, but the issue is the use of the word 'lots'.

When the entire skin content of a flick can be summarized by "One girl shows her boobs twice", there is no way that the word 'lots' can apply. 'Showgirls' could be considered to have 'lots' of nudity - even 'a huge amount'. Splash - a PG-13 movie - has almost as much nudity as Hack.

I stand by my initial post. You are seriously in need of perspective.

I wish I had been on crack when I watched this crapola. I have to admit there were a few times I chuckled...the Asian guy dancing to Fame with his girlfriend watching him while peeing...the karate scene. While there were some mildly entertaining moments this was nothing like some of the MUCH better comedy horror films like Evil Dead and even Night of the Comet.

I saw this movie the other night. While it may not be the best movie ever, I did find it fun and entertaining, there were some funny moments and great injokes. Some of the twists were, to put it best, insane! I like Juliet Landau's death, bitten on the neck like a vampire would do, lol!

I rather enjoyed this movie. Even though I figured Emily was involved some way after the scene when Johnny mentioned about getting everyone to the island. Emily seemed to have a panic tone in her voice as though she thought Johnny knew something and calmed down after she realized he meant something else.

Other than that, I thought this was mindless entertainment, a movie you can turn your brain off for 90 odd mins and relax! Here that folks TURN YOUR BRAIN OFF FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF!

I have to yell that because it seems to me that far far far too many people sit in front of their TV screens p!ssing and moaning and looking for flaws in movies. That is why especially with b-movies, I enjoy more than I dislike because I don't think, I watch and don't head in with high expectations.

I found this film to be an immensely enjoyable piece of self-aware slasher camp. I totally dug all the witty and knowing references to various classic horror films. 8 out of 10 from me.

This film ruined references left and right. They threw them in there in such numbers and SO BLATANTLY it took the fun out of catching them. Anyone with any knowledge of the most basic of horror movies will pick up 90% of the references and it gets tiring after the first 7. Way to add film-based dialogue to a film full of boring, cliché references in the first place as well. Self-aware as it is, there's a border between intentionally camp and (hopeful-)film-student-trying-to-show-knowledge-yet-failing.

I loved this movie! Only a true fan of horror and bad horror can appreciate the greatness!
