And of the course the character who tried to warn the hijackers of the imminent attack from the passengers couldn't be an American character could he? ..oh no had to be a cowardly European

There was one German passenger on Flight 93. About.Com says about him:

"Christian Adams - The 37-year-old husband and father from Biebelsheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, was flying to San Francisco for a wine-tasting event as part of his job as director of export for German Wine Institute.

Christian Adams left behind a wife, Silke; son, Lukas; and daughter, Theresa."

I haven't looked into whether or not his movie portrayal was accurate.
