i own dynasty warriors two and free and was interested in the sequels so i had a look on the internet and become slightly confused. what is the difference between dynasty warriors 3 and extreme legends kudos to dynasty warriors 4/empires/ extreme warriors and dynasty warriors 5/empires ...are these expansions if so why so many and what do they change

Ok so i can only help you with dynasty warriors 5 extreme legends. Its different to dynasty warriors 5 because you can create a person and choose a commander from wei shu or wu and fight at different places and you can get letters from other officers to join their team as well. That is Destiny Mode. And there is another mode called Xtreme Mode were you choose an officer (for eg; sun shang xiang, lu meng or anyone like that) and you can buy officers and get ur weapon to be stronger and you can choose where you wanna go and you can help people at the place so you get money etc...etc...
