This movie didn't portray CF well at all
I watched this movie with my little sister and my mother. As a CF patient I was insulted. Jill, the character with CF, never took enzymes before she ate. We never saw her take medicine or anything at all! If she has CF wouldn't she be doing airway clearance and nebulizers at home? We saw her once getting chest physical therapy to clear out her lungs. I might add that they didn't portray the therapy well at all. They did it all wrong. As for her tune-ups a real laugh. Tune-ups (in which a CF patient is hospitalized and put on IVs for a while) didn't last long at all. The normal stay is about 2 weeks long. Yet Jill stayed for only a couple hours. Also she stayed in a hospital room with a CF patient waiting for a lung transplant! CF patients are not allowed to share rooms at the hospital because they can get each other sick. This is even stupider considering the girl she is rooming with is waiting for a transplant. Jill rarely coughs and though they do mention she doesn't gain weight due to CF they still didn't portray this disease really well at all. They could have used any disease. It is like they looked CF up in the dictionary and just portrayed what they had. They didn't look it up well at all. My little sister and I kept watching the movie laughing at all the stupid mistakes and how stupid they portray CF. If you want to actually learn about CF watch Alex: The Life of a Child. That movie portrays CF accurately.
