Understanding British Actors

Maybe it's just me, but I had a really hard time understanding what Luke Goss was saying throughout much of this movie. I was playing the movie through a Dolby 5.1 receiver and kept turning up the center channel dialog output, thinking that maybe the other 5 channels were overpowering the speech, but that did not help much.

It's not just this movie either, I have experienced the same problem recently with a lot of movies that have British actors. I am beginnig to think I need to turn on the english subtitles when viewing these movies to get anything out of them.

Has amyone else experienced this, or do I need to see a hearing specialist?

what nationality are you?
I am Australian and I understand British actors fine.
How used to hearing english spoken in an english accent are you?
I mean.... it IS called English, not American or Australian.
Maybe you need a bit more exposure to other cultures or something.

I'm a American and have never had a problem with British ascent but I love British comedies. If you want to get used to the British slang word quickly watch a couple of Monty Python movies.

English is not my native language and I had no troubles understanding what he was saying at all.

No problems here, so i'd say that yes, go to see your doctor.

Or are you from Ă…land? No-one can understand what THEY say, maybe it goes the other way as well...

lol, you just don't understand the accents very well. it's not all that crazy. I consider myself an anglophile and there are still plenty of accents from the region that I have a tough time understanding.
