Well this helped the online poker is rigged theory

Well besides that this movie was just horrible who else loved the party poker / terrible suck outs correlation.
I am going to just start out by just pointing out a few funny things about this movie like how worried her friends were that she might take second.."o no 1 or 2 million for second won't cover our loans." How about the dad being the man at poker and risks his life on a-8 offsuit when there is a flush and straight on the board, he risks it on 2 pair. And finally my favorite how they are blatantly planning and scoping the room and no one notices. Anyways this movie has just helped advance in proving that online poker is nothing but a dirty scam. Sure these huge companies give a place to play poker out of the comfort of your own home but they are rigged. They can't get in trouble (shown by the absolute and ultimate bet scandals) so what would stop them from rigging games and putting some extra money into their pockets.
Well lets start out with the fact that party poker had to have some sponsorship in this movie I mean cmon who the hell else is going to fund a movie like this and they have their logo all over the end of the movie.
Now lets move to the fact that 90% of the big hands they showed were online poker type hands.
1. (My favorite) When she goes up agains the jew from brooklyn flopping the open ender when he flops top set of queens, then turning the flush draw, then ultimately sucking out the queens. Just so online poker its funny
2. When her and the old black guy are heads up and he calls all in preflop in a major tournament for a 10,000 dollar seat with a 5-6 suited and this guy is suppose to be some type of pro? O yea and he rips a straight and busts an overpair
3. The runner runner flush the mafia dude has against the dads Aces and eights, yet another awesome example of online poker
4. The 3-6 straight she hits when he holds pocket 5s......

Now lets go to actual live tournament poker...you see this maybe once an episode if that anything else is at least a good bad beat not runner runner flushes or people calling all in with garbage. And from of those of you who play live at home I know we are seeing a 4th of the hands but how often do you see the stuff that happened in this movie/online poker. You can play 8 home games and tell see a 3rd of what you see online/movie

So yes this movie was a blatant attempt to subconciously tell us that beats that you see online happen all the time in real life also. When in reality they do not. They are so many good players that have the kill swithc turned on them and this movie was a lame attempt to show us all that online poker is fair.

I will agree totally that you get dealt aces the right amount of times. The rigged part comes in when you are all in. No other way to put it and sure it seems like that because your all in and the last hand you remember but cmon and now many many many more can vouch for this, but how many times can a-q beat a-k all in preflop? So hopefully all that have seen this horrible horrible movie can see the correlation to party poker cheaply trying to show us online poker is not rigged and pass the message on. So hopefully one day we can stop those dirty dirty overseas scumbags from ruining the beautiful game of poker and it can become regulated and fair for all to play.

PS. Please stop pumping your money into pokerstars people because unless your of the lucky few your not going to win big...(especially if you have cussed out the site)
And those of you that want to claim I am just a bad player just ask for my hand history i will let you see for yourself. I will send you the last 30 games I have played nad you will see the amount of bad beats is uncountable. Just openly not real poker. Thanks

Great post secue1...i too have been scammed by the online poker sites.

I hope online poker players read your post and stay away from the computer and play real poker in person. Theyd have more luck in the casino at slot machines anyways.

LOL at thinking online poker is rigged.

I know this is a rather old post, but I just thought it was a little funny. Yes, this movie is utterly horrible, but, to use a movie database forum to complain about one's bad poker beats and comment that online gaming is rigged is quite amusing. There are much better places for such a thing. But, since it has been brought up...most popular online gaming site would have much more to lose than gain by rigging the card generator. If people think the games are rigged, nobody will deposit and the site will fail. Then, they will have put a black mark on all the pros that endorse the site. With the money and intelligence that most pros have, they're probably some of the last people whose names you would want to drag through the mud and the inevitable litigation that would follow. (i.e., Tom "durrrr" Dwan seems like a pr*ck you wouldn't want ticked at you.)

In the end, yeah, bad beats suck, but, that's poker. What it's not is a movie, which is what this forum is for. Talk about the bad scripting, acting, and factual errors here. Leave your cards at the table.
