Gino

He has an Italian name, an Italian accent, why does he insist to say he is Spanish??

reply

I was thinking the exact same thing the other night - and his last name is Italian too!

"Would you say you're a fairly egregious person?"

reply

I believe from an episode in series 1 I recently saw that he's half Spanish and half Italian.

reply

Haha, I always thought he was Italian...until the 4th series, when he decorated the bar in a Spanish motif? I thought "WTF? He's not Italian, but Spanish?" Very confusing! lol

That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it...

what? In the second season he frequently mentions he's from Italy (at the fight in the kitchen he sides with the Italians, his brother's a restaurant owner in Italy, etc.)

reply

oh yeah, I forgot about that....WTF??? James DID say he was half of both, but I am still confused. Perhaps he switches sides depending on the situation, sometimes he's more Spanish, sometimes Italian?

That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it...

He's half-Spanish, half-Italian, I can remember him mentioning it in the first series. But whatever he is, he's definitely the funniest character in the series and makes it what it is. It's his accent and the look he gives, complete deadpan expression even if he's making a ridiculous statement. Gotta love Gino!
