I've worked out why Season 4 sucked the big one...

1. Much less complex and less interesting storylines - remember those "how are they going to get around that?" episodes? The stories also related less to the behind-the-scenes running of a hotel, instead substituting generic "workplace" plots and some awful, predictable Sam-generated scenarios (eg the Fake Wedding Fiasco, the Poker Pissing Contest) that are downright retarded.

2. Characters - too much focus on Juliet and Sam, who dominated time and storylines at the expense of the characters who had made the show a success. So much that at times it felt like a different show entirely.

3. Sam - new writers using a new character to create conflict for the sake of it (another pointless bickering match with Juliet, anyone?) rather than creating and building a realistic character to hang a decent plot on. By the end I was convinced he was a moronic liar whose "business empire" was built entirely out of Lego on his loungeroom floor.

The main writers from the first 3 seasons were no longer involved after the first ep of season 4. That was the end of the road for Imogen and Co, and I'm starting to wish I'd jumped ship then as well.

The first 3 seasons, as a whole, I would give 10/10 to, I really love it that much. Season 3 wasn't as good as the first two, but it was still excellent. Season 4 gets 3/10 and I'm going to try to sell it to some other mug on ebay.
