How real is that?

I really love this show, but I haven't read the book yet, so my question is for those who work or have worked in a hotel such as Babylon: I wonder how real are those situations? I mean, would things like that actually happen in a five-star hotel? Like when they mistreat some annoying abusive guests or plan those fantastic revenges against them or actually kick them out? And would guests like those who are shooting a movie there (3rd season) actually cancel the shooting and leave without paying like they threat to do? Wouldn't they be asked to provide some guarantee of payment before?

It's very accurate at times but all guests would need to have left a credit card or similiar bond to cover 'expenses' in such a high class establishment

Having been in hospitality for many years I've pretty much seen (and sometimes taken part in) all the ways you can get back at abusive patrons or guests but obviously the real life ramifications can be worse than what people see on TV shows

All in all Hotel Babylon is a fantastic series and pretty close to the mark

Yeah, I think it was an amazing series. I watched one epsiode 3 years ago when I was in Europe (Iceland) on BBC and then started downloading a number of other episodes on itunes.

I just watched the episode with the abusive soccer club. I was wondering how real that was? I think soccer teams might be worse in England than in the states. Also, there's fall-out to teams misbehaving so incessantly on the road. ESPN, nowadays, is 24-7 news coverage plus there are bloggers, that will gladly report you out if you're that bad.

I also thought that in some cases, the staff was getting a little too nosy. Anna really didn't have any business inquiring whether those guys were in a cult.
