Tony, what's the deal?

Hi,
I looove Dexter Fletcher and the character of Tony Casemore, but I need to get something off my chest ;)
Why is his character so inconsistent? For example, I found it hard to believe that he would let himself in with those Russians (though I liked the episode).
Also, in one of the first episodes he tells that he is saving all his money for an early retirement and is basically living for his family and so on, and then in epi 17 he’s ready to throw that all away without even thinking about it (and move to South America). And now he wouldn’t know about his daughter auditioning…? Excuse me, but that is just a bit much. And where is his wife anyway? :)

Anyone else feel this way?

I was rather surprised by the thing with the juror earlier this series, yes. Mid-life crisis? Fortieth birthdays are usually portrayed on TV as being tough.

The thing with his daughter is he works hard to provide and so is never around - she wouldn't tell him aboutt he audition the way she didn't tell her mother - which they did address.

And yes mid-life crisis moment of weakness. I think he'd have backed out.

I adore Tony. I think he's the very best character.

The problem is that they left his character too open during the first and the second season. He never had a detailled family background, so it comes as a huge surprise when his daughter suddenly enters the scene.

I like that he's loyal to his coworkers and fights for them with management. You get the sense that he's at work a lot because he feels that in addition to his home family, he has a family at work too.

I like his character a lot, very endearing.
