I just got the DVD the other day because it had a creepy looking cover. Yes, it reminded me of The Grudge, Ringu and a few other Asian horror movies, but I decided to get it because I am always looking for something scary and it's just so hard to find. I have not seen the whole thing yet, but from the first part I watched, it seemed pretty decent. I was upset that it was not closed captioned, as I had great difficulty understanding the spoken English. I will post the rest of this when I have seen the wholoe thing.

movie was good but not great but gives you an interesting look on the asian culture of the 7th month on the lunar calender.

I loved this film because of it's mystical qualities and better than average effects. It's a little different because it's a Chinese production and the setting is in Singapore, but it's such an original plotline as compared to the some of the cookie-cutter productions coming out of the rest of Asia. It's sooo much better than Shutter.

Well. No. Nothing about this movie is original except for the fact that it's based in Singapore.

If you're a chinese, this movie can be scary, because the way it's represented is a bit like what most chinese believe about ghost. If I watch it alone, I might get scared easily.

Cool movie,good story,and it sure made me jump a lot,LOL! It is very creepy,and one of the better ghost movies. I also liked that sometimes you weren't sure if someone was a ghost or an actual person,that made it creepier.Very interesting and original story,about an unusual Chinese cultural belief.One of the best Ghost story movies I've yet seen.Right up there with another of my Asian favorites "A Tale Of Two Sisters".

So not scary.
I was spooked by Ringu and Ju-On but this is just lame.
Avoid at all cost!

I found it scary at some scenes but it has the feeling of 'been there, done that, seen it.' Good chills and interesting story. But go rent something else while you're at it, at the same time. :). This one is worth watching, though.

The fear, I think, lies in the situation as much as the ghost. Don't expect to jump around a lot, but if you put yourself in the position and mindset of the protagonist you will be rewarded with a much more rewarding and comprehensive scare than your usual jump/gore-fest.

It had a few scares but nothing you haven't seen before if you've seen alot of j-horror. Although it didn't seem so original, I did like the story.
