What was with her hair??

Forgive me for perhaps being a typical American, ignorant of the latest advances in hairstyle fashion in the rest of the world, but Blanca sporting little more than buzz-cut bangs with otherwise beautiful long hair looks like she was the victim of some unfortunate accident whilst inspecting the underside of a running lawnmower. Is this really a style in some areas or is this her "signature look" perhaps? At any rate, I didn't care for it...

It's a style, actually. And not so bad if you think about the 80's hair style in Chile. That was scary.

See?? Another horror show I am fearfully ignorant of! People! Just because it's different doesn't mean it looks good! I'm sure some people think it does look good, and if this movie was even remotely popular, I would currently be being virtually strung up by my toes and beaten without mercy (which could actually be considered enjoyable by certain rather twisted folks) for my judgmentalism, which I hereby freely admit and heartily choose to indulge. I am off to google "80's hairstyle in Chile." If I don't post on this thread again in the next three years, assume I died of shock. Give it three years because I may just not care enough to remember to check this thread again for a very, very long time.

reply

LOL. This gave me a laugh.

Did you indeed die of shock?

reply

I'm glad I'm not the only one that think about it, but I'm fashion-blind.

I'm back!! I'm...I'm back. Didn't die of shock. Merely fell into a deep coma for the last two years. I was having this vivid dream where Jennifer Aniston started sporting a Flock of Seagulls look, and it spread through Hollywood like wildfire.

It's so good to be awake! Guess I have a lot to catch up on. Oh, well, I'm off to see if I can get Michael Jackson's autograph, then take a vacation in the Gulf of Mexico, and celebrate the full withdrawal from Iraq that has no doubt happened by now...

actually this hair style is still used today (2011) especially seen in Catalan woman in Barcelona, who I would say have a bohemian or hippie lifestyle. I've lived in Barcelona for 3 years and at first it was hard getting used to, but after a while you actually ignore it and may even find the woman beautiful with this type of bangs.

Although, I must say I am not fond of this cut whatsoever!

She had hair?

In Mexico, when someone has the bangs cut way too short, we think they were chewed up by a donkey. Just an expression.

I saw this same hairstyle (the reason why I don't like it is because I am not used to it, or because it is so uncommon I see it as something ugly) in the movie HOW TO KILL YOUR NEIGHBOR'S DOG (Branagh's character wife). It is an acquired taste.
