7/10: Could have been close to great.

7/10:

In short:
The Adjustment Bureau (2011) in a dichotomical shape (Yin and Yang). One failed thief meets a higher than life woman. The movie is the interaction between the two with a characterstudy on top of that. It's not heavy but neither light.

In longer:
Other than being black and white it's cinematographically well made, the strongest example being the bridges that are crossed as a symbols of steps for the lead in the movie. The leads themselves are molded after Don Quijote and Sancho Pancha to a large extent. Their attribute as counterparts (read; Yin and Yang) is made clear both through costume, dialouge and character rationality. The character development is mutually circular and the strongpoint of the movie.
All it is missing is a better ending.

Pro's
• Originality
• Cinematography
• Leads
• Message

Con's
• Ending
• Religious elements
• Overacting at times (or scripted stupidity)

End Notes:
Just before the 50 minutes one character is speaking to the other about how he is lying to himself on a deeper level, it gives off clear matrix connotations. Quite soon after karma comes into the picture with her saying she's his reflection. The message is positive that actions matter and that taking action starts with yourself.

Ignorance is only a bliss if you haven't reached awareness.
My imdb posts are getting altered.
