and sigorney weaver aint faye dunaway.

but still, this movie is markedly more entertaining than the handful of other 'behind the scenes' dramas that have been coming out as of late.

That's for sure, this was very inferior to Network. It didn't offer anything new even when it was interesting, and then it tried too hard to be funny at the end and pushed it too far. Weaver is an excellent actress and one of the bright spots in the film, though. Even if she was almost over-the-top, she was more interesting than any of the other characters. That being said, she didn't come close to Faye Dunaway.

True. It was amusing and incisive but nothing new really and Weaver's character was clearly a rehash of Dunaway's from Network. It's a passable film but it's too bitter to really connect with viewers I think. It's more of a cautionary tale for people who aspire to get into show biz, to let them know it's a mess of compromise and unreasonable demands.

"I'll book you. I'll book you on something. I'll find something in the book to book you on."
