Hating the ending shows stupidity

Everyone that hated the ending should stop watching movies...the whole point of the movie was to show how the TV pilot business works...having a happy ending would have defeated the purpose of making this movie. The final shot of Duchovny looking like a failure as he realize his shows been completely ruined sums up the movie perfectly. I understand if you didnt like the movie because you thought it wasnt well paced or acted or shot or directed or whatever, thats fine because thats a difference of opinion, but dont bag the movie because it didnt have a feel-good unrealistic ending, thats just stupid.

I agree 100%. Also, you're sitting there hoping that Duchovney DOESN'T get up, and say something stupid.

Just sit there, swallow your pride (and pills) and collect your check.

Good flick.

I thought the ending was poignant.

I hated the ending, but not because it wasn't happy, but because it stopped so abruptly. I wanted to know what happened next.

It would of been fun to see how the show turned out. Who else thinks that Zach Harper would become a television hack afterwards. Check out the deleted scene for those who have the DVD. It was priceless what Silverman says to Lindsey Sloan's character.

I understand that people want to know "what happens next," but I think we are given a preview of what happens next. Not only did the writer see his beloved TV project ruined and stripped of all of its originality and creativity, but the real nightmare for him now begins. The new head of programming (from Britain) told the audience at the screening, "Wait until you see the next 22 episodes!" Cut to Mike who is thinking, "Oh, 5hit...now I have to write 22 more episodes of this piece of garbage." I'm sure he'll be well paid, but he'll also be in hell (which is what happens when you sell your soul). We understand why he made so many compromises, but this is what happens. Bummer! Not a happy ending but a real-life ending.
