Subtitles

Have watched the film in it's original language, which I don't understand, and have searched endlessly for English subtitles. The movie appears to be really good, and it is on a subject matter not often done on film - "Mysterious Skin" is the only one that comes to mind. If you know of a place where I can download English subtitles, please, please, please let me know. However, please don't give me a site link unless you KNOW that it provides an English subtitle for the film. I have already tried to find English subtitles in numerous "subtitle" sites with no luck.

A speedy reply will be greatly appreciated.

You and me both. I am just thankful I was able to see this great film at least. I hope one day we both can find english subtitles for it but some films, for some strange reason, never get english subtitles. Does anyone know why?

I seen this with french and german films as well I guess we are going to have to learn another language if we want to understand it completely. I don't know what else there is to do. I know of no software that can translate audio into text english subtitles.

I agree. I have the German DVD. This is an unusually balanced and engaging movie about abuse.

Another movie that Sønner could be compared with is Koti-ikävä (2005) from Finland. It discusses the issue of abuse of a young man within his family. This title also resembles another great Gordon-Levitt movie, namely Manic (2001).

Unfortunately, there is only German subtitling available for Sønner on DVD at the moment. The Finnish DVD release of Koti-ikävä by Finnkino does have English subtitles, and the disc is region-free.

I saw this movie at a film festival, and it had English subtitles then, so there's an English-subtitled print floating around somewhere.

I'm wondering how two people can watch a film and have no idea what is being said, but still think the film is great?
