Regardless of the plot or slant of the film, this movie had some of the worst acting I have ever seen. I brought the movie over to my friend's house thinking it looked interesting and neither one of us could believe that we were actually watching professional actors on the screen.
shareThis is a real mixed bag in terms of performances with a tendency toward hamminess, but I've seen much, much worse. My main problem with the film is it feels a bit too much like a soap opera or a 19th century "Dawson's Creek" until the final half-hour. This film is all over the map in terms of tone, but at least it attempts to shed a bit of light on a forgotten period of history.
I liked it, but I didn't love it.
