Your opinion?

Well, to be honest, every time another Land Before Time sequel comes out, I tend to roll my eyes.

But to keep with being honest, every time one of them is on TV, I watch it.

I was surprised to see that they'd made a series out of it, but it seems to make more sense than pushing out a few dozen more movies. Overall, I think it's pretty entertaining and a good kid's show.

The thing that gets me though is 'Ruby'. Her personality seems extremely poorly developed. Every line she says could easily be something Ducky says and her character brings very litte to the table that isn't already there. Up until this point all of the characters have had individual roles--Littlefoot the thinker, Cera the skeptic, Spike the brawn, etc. But what they heck is poor Ruby's role? She just seems pointless.

Also, what kind of dinosaur is she supposed to be? I have a hard time recalling my childhood dinosaur phase.

In my opinion, the show is great. It seems to be just more of the stuff we get from the sequels (makes me happy, TBQH), though, which really makes me wonder why anyone would prefer the show over the sequels and vice-versa.

I'll say this: The biggest problem I have with the show is not actually the show itself. What really gets to me is those morons at the Cartoon Network, who apparently thought it would be a swell idea to dump the first twelve episodes almost all at once, then replay those for an undertermined number of months.

And FYI, Ruby is an Oviraptor.

The land before time is awesome! The more they make, the happier I am. I think they should do anything and everything they can with LBT.

According to wikipedia, Ruby is supposed to be the philosopher of the gang (though I do see your point - what does the gang need with a philosopher?).

I actually really like the TV series, but apparently it's been canceled for one reason or another. While the animation isn't that great and they tend to sing the same song over and over ("Adventuring" and "I Feel Happy"), hardly any of the episodes are filler, which is great.

Not cancled. Just ctn being really stupid. YTV has had new eps every week one a week at least. Most every ep to date has had some point. Ither fleshing out a charector more or showign pairings of charectors. In a attempt (and a good one at that) to flesh out relationships between a couple charectors. Some other eps are for back story on a single char. While others flesh out the series story line. As for the songs i can take em or leave em. It does make sence that like kids the dino kids would tend to sing the same song or variant over and over. I would like to see some new ones added though.

Oh. I thought the series was canceled. Glad it's apparently not, though.

This is a great series. I think it's interesting how there are new characters in the TV series of The Land Before Time that did not appear in any of the movies. Ruby is an Oviraptor.

reply

I heard somewhere that Ruby might appear in a later sequal probably LBT 13.

Ruby is, in a way, a light headed character.

I think it's a better idea to have a TV show than to pump out sequel after sequel. That way, there can be as many stories as possible, without worrying about making them movie-length, or making the movie series too long (although that may or may not have already happened...)

Ruby's an oviraptor. She looks pretty cool for one, though...(I always thought oviraptors looked goofy...)

But, yeah. Glad it's not cancelled. I'm kind of liking it...I'd like it more if i was littler, but I still like it, anyway...
