Why was the kid grounded?

Mom sees some kind of electric device wrapped in a cloth bag and flips out and tells her son not to leave the apartment. Does anyone know what that was?

It was an electric blanket. He used it to raise his body temperature and make his mom think he had a fever so he could stay at home.

Bloody brilliant! I never thought to try that! I used a ear based thermometer and set it to "infant". This gave your temperature an increase.

And THAT is where babies come from.

Ooooh thank you! I coudn't figure that part out, either. I thought she found his backpack or something (to show he was going to get up and leave when he was supposedly sick) but I very clearly saw the electrical cord sticking out and couldn't figure out why. Thanks!

It was a heating pad, smaller than an electric blanket. It fit under his pillow which made his head 'feverish'.
