Criticism of this film is too harsh. It not supposed to be a true life depiction of typical U.S. high schoolers. It is fantasy. However, it is sexy and interesting. Nikki Reed and Julie Gonzalo are both terrific to look at. The writing was a little week, but the acting was fine. Music, editing, and photography were terrific. it is fine entertainment. Better than I expected.

I've already seen many films similar to this.The story isn't very complicated and experienced watchers can predict upcoming scenes especially the end in which he kept bigger part of money.

Didn't have to be realistic it was just very poorly scripted. I think they overstretched a bit, the monologues of the lead protagonist make him seem like a complete simpleton, hard to feel any sympathy for his brain dead character.
The last 30 minutes were especially messy, it seemed like the writer couldn't think of a good conclusion and just started grabbing at straws. And again, the attempts at making the lead character "deep" or thoughtful with monologues describing his sudden realizations (that the audience already realized within the first 30 minutes of the movie) as if they were some great epiphany.. the whole thing was just ridiculous.
It's certainly not hard to see why this went directly to DVD.

I do not know Jon Tucker, but he is the one of two people in this picture (Julia Gonzalo was the other) worth watching.

i liked it too it avoided a lot of cliches usually seen in the genre and the characters were pretty interesting. felt fresh to me. Weak ending but kept me gripped.
