How do I see this movie? It's not on DVD and not on the internet, that I know of, so HOW HOW HOW DO I SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I appreciate any resopnse, thank you.
shareHi. I've been following the progress of this film since it was first in development, and it's certainly had its fits and starts. Here is the latest info as I know it, based on information posted publicly by the filmmaker and producers. Occasionally someone associated with the film comes here so I'm sure they'll correct and/or augment what I say if necessary.
After premiering at the SXSW Film Festival in March 2006 there were a number of people interested in it. Several of them liked the film but wanted it recut, so it was taken off the market while a newly edited version was made. That new cut was then screened at the Sedona Film Festival in early 2007. After that the producers said that a distribution deal had been made and that it would be released in theaters but no date was ever set.
At some point the producers of the film took complete control over it from the writer and director, Eric Allen Bell. He no longer has the copyright on the film so he is technically out of the picture as far as distribution is concerned. Whenever asked about it the producers (financiers) have said publicly that a release was forthcoming. That has been their official word on it whenever asked.
I saw it several times (twice at SXSW and once at Sedona) and I don't understand why it hasn't been released. There is a trailer, though, which you can see here:

Here is what writer/director Eric Allen bell last said about it publicly:
The fact is that the film does have a distributor. The film is now fully owned by the financiers through a legal action. It is unclear at this time whether or not the financiers will follow through with having the movie distributed in theaters.
Since I, as writer and director of BONDAGE no longer control the copyright on my own work, I cannot distribute DVDs to the many people who write me and ask for them.

The following is based on my own research and I invite anyone to either correct or add to this if any of it is incorrect or incomplete.
There have been at least 4 companies involved in its production and distribution over the years. Writer/director Eric Allen Bell is no longer connected with it, and he was associated with Eccentric Cattle Entertainment (which is still listed in some places as the distributor). Roark Media was also one of the producers but that was Scott Creedon's company and he passed away awhile ago. I'm not sure if either of those companies is still in existence without them. Ithaka Entertainment's Braxton Pope and Andrew Weiner were major financiers. They may be the best ones to contact. Relief Films is another company listed as a producer but that name was recently attached to the film and I don't know them.
The best thing to do is always write a letter as opposed to sending an email or calling. I can't promise you'll get any kind of response but here are a couple of useful addresses.
