dangerous minds 3 much

dangerous minds
dangerous minds 2 aka Freedom Writers
dangerous minds 3 aka the ron clark story

I dont care if it is a true story this topic is sooooooo played out.

reply

Difference is this one is based on a true story.

Lead me not into Temptation; I can find the way myself.

reply

That's not a difference - all three of these movies are based on true stories. Inspiring teachers make great movies, just like comic book heros (there's more than three movies about those!)

reply

Let's not forget the orginal "Inspiring teacher" movie - ONLY THE STRONG! That movie rocked!

reply

I agree, the storyline has been done many times, but who cares, these are great stories, worth hearing about - especially since they are true stories! They are a tribute to truly inspirational individuals who have done something that really matters. How many pointless, over the top blockbusters get put out every year...and they are nothing but mindless entertainment, with no message whatsoever.
The Ron Clark story had so much feeling in it, I really enjoyed it.

reply

I agree. I'm a teacher and can tell you there are plenty of sub-par teachers out there. It's nice to see a story about someone who really cares about the kids.

"I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, when he said, 'I drank what?'"

reply

It's music to my ears when a teacher admits that "there are plenty of sub-par teachers out there". I'm fed up with all the PC and union crap where all teachers are great and it is always the fault of the kids, the parents, blah blah blah. In every profession, there are many mediocrities (if that) and teachers are not an exception.

reply

You're suggesting Ron Clark plagiarised Dangerous Minds...that's kind of ridiculous since Ron Clark is based on a true story and Dangerous Minds is not. It's a similar topic but Ron Clark is better. Dangerous Minds isn't about learning methods at all, it's just a drama that happens to center around a rebellious class.

Cheers

Dangerous Minds is a 1995 drama film based on LouAnne Johnson's autobiographical account of her experience as a Marine who left her career to become an English teacher at a well-off high school attended by bussed-in students from a ghetto.

reply

Actually, this film trotted out a lot of cliched scenes we've seen in "dedicated teachers" movies for years like GOOD MORNING MISS DOVE, THE BLACKBOARD JUNGLE, TO SIR WITH LOVE, and DANGEROUS MINDS, but Matthew Perry's performance made it worth watching.

I highly recommend you read this man's life story and read both of his books "The Essential 55" and "The Excellent 11" before you start judging him and the movie based on his life.He is truly an inspiration.

While you think this story line is "played out" his students will forever greatful for the lessons he gave them and the future they never thought they could have.

reply

I'm not judging Ron Clark himself, I'm commenting on elements of the screenplay.

reply

I think you might be misinterpreting what I posted...I am not judging or belittling Ron Clark at all. All I meant is that certain scenes IN THE MOVIE reminded me of scenes I've seen in similar movies, that's all. I really enjoyed the movie and thought Matthew Perry was wonderful in the role.

reply

Ron Clark soooooo deserved to have a movie made about his story. Coming from a teacher, he is so inspirational and he's got some great ideas.
