I haven't seen her other films, except her hindi debut with ritesh deshmukh (forgot the name of the movie).
Guessing by the jaane tu trailers, I beleive she has potential to be good.

I heard that she got this role after the producers/director saw her in a Telugu film,Bommarilu(spelling?).
That was her biggest hit down south.She was paired opposite Siddarth(Karan from RDB).
I have the movie,with subtitles thankfully.So thats the next movie I'll be watching,after her splendid performance in Jaane Tu.

I became a fan of her after watchin that movie...
I saw Jane Tu Ya Jaane Naa. I fall in love with this beautiful Chirpy offspring of Jeannie and Neil; thats why Genelia is the name. Then I watched this movie again n again. Now I'm a north indian and can understand only eng and hindi. I R&D about her on net and decided to watch one of her Telugu Movies Bommarillu. This movie simply swept me off my feet. In last one month I probably had seen it more than 60 times using subtitles and guess what i learned 2 of its songs completely watching her again and again. GENELIA is the best. Surprisingly the movie was completely north indian types and also made me think that though tamil, kannada and malayalam are crude n shouting languages but telugu has some softness in it something like urdu.

And her smile is just sooooo sweet...she might not be miss universe but when she smiles her whole face transforms...and she acts waayyy better than "new popular" actresses like deepika and so on...

I saw 2-3 of Genelia's early movies and liked them. But I was looking for her to extend her range. And her emotions were a bit more extended in this movie. But I think in a short number of years, she'll have to start letting go of her teenybopper persona because it won't fit anymore.
