i was watching the pappu cant dance section of the film, and i noticed when they say "pappu cant dance sala" in one place, imran isnt acually moving his lips but as soon as the camera is on him he starts singing after split second.. seems a bit odd..

also when the three friends are mimicing that english rap song and when imran sings he mimics for a few seconds and then stops and make a silly face as if he didnt know what to say... i just found this funny!

I think all that is intentional to sort of give it a fun and nonchalant feel, not like a proper song.
In the movie, Jai is not 'supposed' to be a singer. Even Kabhi Kabhi Aditi he says..."gaana to aata nahin phir bhi hum gaate hain". They're only 'singing' for Aditi. And then when he sings Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, it's off-key because it's his natural voice.
Pappu Can't Dance is just fun.
