The opening scene when the group of friends are talking about Jai and Aditi and the new girl asks who they are and the group of friends continue to tell the story of the two protagonists. That is exactly how the Shahrukh movie "Chalte Chalte" starts off too.

The funny thing is that "Chalte Chalte" copied the scene from a Hollywood movie. I can't remember the name of that movie but perhaps someone here can.

The Hollywood movie that you are referring to is "Forget Paris", and you are absolutely right. Both these Hindi films shamelessly copied the scene.

And Student of the Year ALSO copied this starting! (except they were telling the story to the audience.)
