I think it would have been really cool that goal 2 was about the next season in newcastle and fighting for the premier league and making a good tournament in the champions league like malaga last season or schalke 04 when they reached the semi finals. Then it would be more believable that Real Madrid would buy both Gavino and Santiago, and the whole real madrid thing leaved to the third movie.

It is a movie and especially back then people didn't say a lot about realism. Now a days though people want movies to be how it would really happen. People have taken the fun out of movies and the imaginations of writers and actors.
I loved Goal I and Goal II, Goal III was a complete joke and barely had Santi in it. Very disappointing. Stop trying to find things wrong with movies and enjoy what they give us. That is what art is.
