Had lunch with Gary during the filming of this!

Went to San Sebastian back in August, and as we were eating in a restaurant we spotted Gary Oldman! I went over tosay hi and told him I was a big fan of his work, and he came over and sat our table and we had lunch with him!

He told us he was over here filming at the moment and that this film is kind of a 'deliverance' style thriller with an unheard of new director. He sounded really excited about it. He also told me that hes sick of playing the bad guys and turned down the offer of Scarecrow for Batman Begins! Apparently hes signed up to do another

Great to hear.Gary has been sick of playing the'VILLAIN" for a few years now.I must say I can't blame him.Must be a bore after awhile.He is so talented and has such a range.I hope to see him in more challenging roles in the future.

I bet he didnt turn down the scarecrow, I believe they wanted him for the Jim Gordon from the start. Just another bs post if you ask me.

Gary makes a great ANYTHING! But Cillian Murphy was incredible, in my opinon he has the potential to be the next Gary Oldman. Anyway, Chris Nolan and David Goyer said they wanted Gary as Gordon from the beginning, he was not a Scarecrow contender. BTW, you lucky *beep* I'd love to meet Gary, let alone has luch with him and talk about films! Wow.... like i always say, you can't spell Gary Oldman without spelling GOD

Anyway, Chris Nolan and David Goyer said they wanted Gary as Gordon from the beginning, he was not a Scarecrow contender.

It's possible that, since Gary Oldman automatically seems to get sent every big-budget villain role by unimaginative casting directors, it could have been suggested for him by the studio or some money-man without Nolan etc being in the loop. Maybe way back when it was still just Batman 5 and Undecided Villain, his name was floated for it and he just rolled his eyes and said, "Not another one!"...

I have nothing to say, I just love this hat.

- Let me first start of by saying, that is incredible. I would be so thrilled. Here's how it would have happened with me:

*Gary comes to sit down*

Gary: Hey, how you guys doing?
Me: Oh *beep* what's up, man? You're Gary Oldman!
Gary: Heh, yep.
Me: Everyone! Look and take pictures!
Waiter: What?
Man Sitting Next To Me: Pardon me, young man?
Me: EVERYONE!

GARY OLDMAN IS AMAZING! If this post is true, then you are the luckiest people on earth. Gary Oldman is one of my idols, as an actor.

You're so lucky. i can't even imagine gary comming over ans sitting at my table. I probably would of fainted if i was standing.
