Was she nominated for this movie? I think Keri Russell should have been nominated for a best actor because she was just wonderful!!! I really loved her performance and she acted so real. Amazing job! I hope she was nominated.

I'm sad to say that MTM63 is quite correct. 'Waitress' was nominated for - and won - several awards in 2007 and 2008, but none were from the Academy. Adrienne's great talent was ignored by Holywood during her lifetime, and this attitude continued after her death. For the record, the awards given were one each from the Newport Film Festival and the Sarasota Film Festival in 2007, and the Humanitas Prize and Wyatt Award for the same year. The Chlodrudis Award followed in 2008. Nathan Fillion received an award for best actor at Newport, but not - interestingly - Keri Russell.
The film 'Serious Moonlight', starring Meg Ryan, will be on general release later this year. Adrienne wrote this movie and was going to direct, but Cheryl Hines took up the reigns following her death. Shelly's husband Andy Ostroy produced the film, which is far darker than 'Waitress'. There was a good buzz about this at Canne, or so I am told by those who attended. Even though Adrienne only scripted the film and did not direct, perhaps this movie will bring her to the attention of the Academy and the general public. I really do hope so.
