I can't see the amount? It's cut off right where you need to see the amount. What does it say?

If you look where the writing is, it says "two hundred seventy thousand four hundred..."

The check stated, "two hundred seventy thousand four hundred and fifty dollars." $270,450.00 must have been Old Joe's life savings, then again he did own half the town's businesses, so it could have been the savings from the cafe.

Actually, she only got $135,225.00 of it. Earl got the other half in the divorce settlement. I'm sure the lawyers got a piece of the action too some wheres along the line. And if the divorce wasn't final when Jenna won the pie contest, he got half of that too. Ha ha.

Only if it's a community property state! Which we don't know, because nothing ever states where, exactly, they live. Only "a small town in the deep south".
