Wow, a couple of R rated movies bomb and now look

Hostel 2 bombed because it was trash not because it is R-Rated.

We know get all the teeny bopper PG-13 movies that claim they were filmed as an R yet the director cuts add one minute of deleted scenes.

This looks like another tamed down PG-13 movie.

I do not really care for movies like Hostel that seem to be just about explicit violence. However, the only thing worse is these ultra tame PG-13 movies that are not scary and dont build any tension.

Most good horror movies are rated R simply because they produce a lot of tension and have adult content. I dont think i am even going to give this one a chance with a rental. This looks like more of the same.

I think nearly all horror movies are UNscary for the fact that they don't have very good tension, rated R movies included. The Strangers was one of the scarier movies I've seen lately, but it didn't even scare me that much.

"Solstice" is not meant to be a horror film, it's more of a supernatural drama with thriller elements, which I think is why it ended up getting shelved. Personally I think it's a decent movie and I like the cast, but I don't think it would have been very successful in theaters, either.
