Ok so sophie and christian hit Malin the year before right? so how is it that her body was nothing but skeleton when megan dug her up. She was SO decomposed there's no way she'd been there only a year.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. I guess they thought it'd be more "scary" in a way for her to be a skeleton. Either way, I loooved the movie :)

According to this, she could be only bone by the end of the year. And if you look at Sophie's pill bottle, it is dated March 2005, so they would've killed her before that. When they go to the lake house in present time, it is June 19th, so it's been about 15 months that Malin is in the ground. Plus, we only see Malin's hand/arm. The rest of her could have some old fleshy bits still there for all we know.
