Butchering the novel

Bloody hell is this bad...I don't get the 'so bad it's good' praise this time. This is just bad. I wouldn't know where to start.

Bad acting (I hadn't noticed the similarities betwen Walker and Kanu Reeves's acting until Bobby Z; makes you wonder), bad filmmaking (zero suspense and intrigue, poor cinematography, overall dullness) and especially, bad writing. The guy handling the script should be in prison. For Pete's sake, he didn't even have to adapt a long novel! The book's a mere 250 pages, so conveying it properly wasn't that much of a stretch. A plethora of changes that brought nothing to the table and made for a laughable film that manages to stay evenly at 5.9 on IMDB. How this happens is still a mystery.

I don't suppose Don Winslow is that excited when he gest asked about this film. They truly messed with his thrilling and witty novel. Big time.
