So... Wal Mart IS or ISN'T 'capitalism'...?

SO... Wal Mart *IS* or *ISN'T* 'capitalism'...?

Here are two selections from a previous thread which I thought were the most telling:

" Wal-Mart is a successful story of Capitalism. In a market economy strong opponents knock out the weak ones. They do what they need to do to stay competitive. In fact, Wal-Mart is just too successful of doing that, and losers hate that and bash that. Capitalism does not guarantee success or happiness for everyone. "

I like the last sentence... its rare to see that kind of candor. Next:

" In capitalist system, everyone starts at the same starting point, the go-gun is fired and then it becomes the survival of the fittest, all of which is fine with me, btw. However, Wal-Mart... is getting help from Uncle Sam. Not only is the government subsidizing new-build projects for new stores, but Wal-Mart almost got away with a situation in New England where they had the government attempt to use "iminent domain" to displace residents in a residential neighborhood so that a Wal-Mart could be inserted with the intention of raising their tax-base. <- THAT* is NOT capitalims by any stretch of the imagination.

Capitalism = Not perfect, but basically our only real option.

Corporate Facism = What Wal-Mart, along with the Federal Government, have been engaged in for quite some time. "

Good point. Again I admire the succinct candor.

No doubt the Wal Mart execs would view getting support from Washington as "Survival of the Fittest".
"It would be stupid to have an advantage sitting there available to us and not use it."
"We're strong enough to secure support from the Federal Govt, and others are not. This is OK. The strong should knock out the weak."

Being strong enough to lure & court Federal Gov't subsidizing and have rulings of imminent domain in your favor is the strong knocking out the weak, right?

If you don't agree with my above suppositions...
How much longer will Corporate Fascism masquerade as 'Capitalism' ?
It seems that this version of capitalism, which the suburban crowd has been taught to praise like parakeets, will eventually recreate 11th Century Europe... with a select few Lords and Ladies living a life of luxury inside castle walls, and everyone else toothless, diseased, flea-ridden, illiterate, aggressive & eating garbage off dirt floors.

This is of course 'the natural order' right? The smart, hard workers rose to the top, right? The strong knocked out the weak, right? Serves them right.

When this uncomfortable eventuality is pointed out, the corporate-aspiring suburban crowd has been taught to parakeet sound bytes like
"Liberal POS" and "Libtard" and then go on to again praise this slanted, hi-jacked version of 'capitalism'.

Is "Survival of the Fittest" not the ultimate Liberal mantra?

Yet I hear it coming out of the mouth of the Republican Suburban Corporate Crowd.
"Let it Fail"
"No hand outs"
"The best will rise to the top"
"The strong knock out the weak"
These phrases are all in-keeping with the survival-of-the-fittest approach.

Republicans that have been trained to quote Darwin. Huh?
Republicans are theoretically the small-business party, yes?
Why so many suburban upper middle class Republicans supporting the Liberal survival-of-the-fittest policy of Liberal Industrialist Rockefeller?

Discuss, please....
(the go-gun is fired)
