Do people sell out their own communities?

The towns shown on this video have very unloyal customers. People blame Walmart, but nobody is dragging people in there to shop. Why would people stop shopping at local mom and pop stores like they have been for decades just because Walmart comes to town. Because they like Walmart better and are disloyal customers who will sell out their town for a few bucks.

The 64k question in this piece of crap calling itself a documentary.

Not to mention the 'bicycle hanging' - one of the oldest premises for a practical joke that I can think of ... racial overtones ? RU kiddin' me ??

No promotion because shes female. So we are to take it on her say so that she was the most qualified candidate ? How do we know she doesn't have a history of being undependable ... She may very well have been legit. screwed over but we are to take it on her word only ? Every person whos complained to me the boss is 'unfair', or that they were wrongly denied a promotion has had a well known deficiency apparent in their private life that I could presume didn't stop at the door to the office on Monday morning.

No union ? So why don't the employees grow a pair and certify a union ? Been there, done that.

Can't make 'ends meet' ? How do we know if those interviewed don't have a premium cable package, a car they can't afford, a mortgage they couldn't afford, that they don't smoke cigarettes, drink to the excess etc etc ? NOT saying this is the case but as it was presented here, these questions were not explored.

I could go on and on but I think most here already 'got the picture'.

I think the picture is that this motion picture in all likelihood goes against your interests.

There's a slogan written here. 'If you're happy, try everything'...

At a certain point YES. People are consciously destroying their local businesses with they choose to shop at Wal-Mart, all they're thinking about is the great deals they're getting.

What they don't think about is the impact of those great deals and face it, once you pay less, it's hard to want to pay more even if it does kill off the better shops, exploit 3rd world labor, and a lot of times have you buying an inferior product with the same label on it. Why would a person care, they just bought a giant jug of detergent for the same price as one half its size anywhere else.
