Locust, Vampire Bats...Is This A Joke?

Locusts and Vampire Bats...why does Lawless continue to downgrade her career in this fashion?

With such films as Resident Evil, BloodRayne, Elektra, and Lara Croft, you'd think she'd try her hand at becoming a big screen action-hero.

Surely there's some project out there with her name on it.

Except that most of these movies were poor, and panned by
critics and fans, so they're not really something to brag about.
Look at her roles away from these films and their almost
camoes (Ginger Snaps, Spider-man), if Lawless was going to
be an action girl she would have done it by now, but maybe
she hasn't been handed the roles. Everyone remembers
from just Xena, maybe it's typecasting, however taken a forgettable
role like this, I don't know seems desperate.

The films named were just examples of the genre I thought she'd be most successful in pursuing.

Type casting much? Lucy has already played the best female action herione of all time, there is no need for her to play watered down versions who are not as nearly as interesting. Like Lynda Carter and Christopher Reeves, Wonder Woman and Superman automatically come into mind. Same with Lucy Lawless with Xena. You shouldnt play more than one hero. Also one of the many things that makes Xena so great is that she was not a pre-existing character (i.e. comic book hero) which gave LL the freedom to make the character her own [and did she!] whereas when you're playing an already known character, you're pretty much just acting following the tidbits layed out for you.
