What was so special about the broom she seemed to take with her?

The broom was used in many scenes as her weapon of choice, until finally she had to use it to stop the bad guy from leaving her to die. She couldn't have done that with too many other items.

I understand carrying a weapon with you, but was there any significance to her broom. It didn't say anything about her carrying it as a weapon of choice or as intended as a weapon.

I'm guessing it came from the Locusts movie. It would be that or a tennis racket when dealing with many flying bugs.

Well, it seems to me that a broom is usefull when trying to fight any flying creatures... But still... it seemed very funny running in that tunnel with the broom.

I don't know why, but she reminded me of Xena and her sword :))

in the middle of the movie when they are about to catch the bats in the net. the kids asked why does she have a bat in the car. she then replys "because as a scientist you need to prepared for whatever happens and you never know when you'll need it.
