That had to be the MOST ridiculous evil plan ever!

So the uncle wants to turn back time so he can become an adolescent teenager again, this time NOT saving his brother but instead reliving his life as a little boy all over again...this time with the memories of his 60 year old self. Thats just awful! Why couldn't he just go back to a time where he was an adult and just have his brother killed? He clearly had no problems hiring assassins or coming up with creative ways to kill people.

The point in going back to when he was a boy is so that he can just leave the King to his death but also he could then have the rest of his life to rule Persia. To him, there's no point in going to his 30's or 40's to rule. He wants to rule all his life basically.

sure he could have hired assassins to kill them off, but its going to look very suspicious that Tus, Garsiv, Dastan and the King are murdered yet Nizam lives.

In going back to when he was a boy he also deals with the Tus and Garsiv problem. Dastan doesn't really count because he doesn't have a chance to get the throne being of non noble blood (correct me if I'm wrong). So by not saving the King when he was a boy, Nizam really kills off Tus and Garsiv as well, and Dastan will remain on the streets because the King won't be arround to adopt him.

Because the king had SONS.. so even if he hired assassins to kill him, HE would never have the throne. The kings sons must die too, maybe that seemed a bit obi if the entire family died so fast

So what? It happened in real life Nepal not 10 years ago.

I agree. When I was sitting through this god awful film, AND THEY DROPPED THAT BOMB, I was like "...what.the.*beep*."

Now...I'm having trouble understanding why you think that the uncle going through all that trouble to get the dagger and travel back in time JUST to have his brother killed is somehow less ridiculous. Why would he even need to time travel?

Obviously, travelling back to when they were kids had many more advantages that you clearly missed, as other have already explained on this thread.

This has to be the MOST ridiculous thread ever!

He was an old man in the current time, AND he'd have to kill off his brothers sons as well.
Going back in time would allow him to kill the king BEFORE he ever had sons.
So, HE could be the King, from an early age and have his entire NEW life ahead of him to rule.

If you were a vengeful power-hungry madman who had the chance, would you rather be king for a decade or so, or for your entire life?!

Think about it.

The initial plot that they are producing massive quantities of weaponry and must be attacked preemptively exactly matches the "WMD" sham used to invade Iraq.
