David possibly the father of the daughter?

Hey, it just occurred to me that it is mentioned that David "knocked up" Denise in college. She is 42 now, so that would be 20 years earlier--just about the age of the daughter who comes home and takes the photo of the women in bed together.

Are we supposed to catch that this is the result of David/Denise's "mistake"? And if so, possibly why he wasn't interested in having a baby with Jane, since he had already "spread his genes" once? It's off that it was never mentioned more explicitly, but sometimes there is a scene about something that ends up on the cutting-room floor.
