Summary of the Movie

The Sinking of Japan was utter crap to me. I watched it for the sole purpose of laughing at it. Which I did a lot.

Late audio cuts, repeated 'still satellite images', exaggerated cgi, shaky storyline, lame acting, extremely simple graphics/animation presented on laptops about the large quake and megalith...bad soundtrack, repetitive scenes, draggy landscape shots...The signs of a cheesy film that doesn't even deserve a 3/10. hahha.

But it was fun laughing through it, which was my point really. Who can miss out on THE SINKING OF JAPAN? (Unless you can miss out on SNAKES ON A PLANE that is lol.)

I personally thought this movie was excellent with some decent characters and a good solid storyline - makes Armageddon look like Mary Poppins. Check out the full version of VIRUS(1980) as well if you liked THE SINKING OF JAPAN.

Well, you have just made the summary of half the blockbasters coming from Hollywood. This film is not worst than the majority of them but is best that many of them.

I liked the Japanese personality of the film. I didn't like the tsunami special effects, because I didn't think they were up to prime as the rest of the film. I liked the aerial photographs of a smaller and smaller Japan, you could see how little living space remained for people. I didn't like the fact that it doesn't explain where all those migrants/refugees went to and why they were all affected. I liked the crambling down of skyscrapers, and the realism of the debris afterwards. There are some scenes where you can see empty derelict cities. I didn't like the destroying of the mountain road and bridge: you could see it was special effects. So I'd give it a 7. Not a masterpiece but it's not crap either.
