'Hell To Pay' vs. 'Silverado'

I couldn't help but read the first review on IMDB for "Hell To Pay" which comments: "It did not have anywhere near the substance of a B Western movie, and should in no way be compared to a fantastic movie like Silverado." Last time I looked, "Silverado" is in no way a "B movie" and it's ridiculous to make that comparison. I could put on a cape and claim to be Superman but I don't have a 100 million bucks to make a movie. There's a huge difference between the two movies as far as budgets go and to compare them is mind-boggling. "Hell To Pay" doesn't pretend to be a big budget film but it does succeed with a great story and excellent performances from legends who have been in front of the cameras in many films and episodic television. IMHO, "Hell To Pay" exceeds the expectations of any film I've seen in it's class. It's patently unfair to trash the film that way by someone who obviously has an agenda and it's an insult to the fans of these great stars.

I have never been so disappointed in a western. I wanted to see all the old stars and I didn't expect them to look like they did in their heyday. HOWEVER, sometimes maybe you just need to say 'Adios' and ride off into the sunset with everyone remembering you the way you were. All of them were an embarassment to themselves in what we call westerns by even trying to make another movie. I felt nothing but pity for any of them. And, my gosh, the story line sucked so badly....

With respect, I have to agree with the Rogue. This movie was terrible. There was no excuse for the bad acting and horrendous dialogue. I kept waiting for someone to say "Gal diggidy" or some other western cliche. The history was crammed into the dialogue to such a point as to where it didn't sound natural. People don't remember dates and years like that. I found it hard to swallow.
If a stagecoach had been robbed 6 times in a row, why do they send for it again? That sheriff was the most lackluster crime fighter I've ever seen. That part was funny (I hope it was intentional).
The film boast of 10 western stars. These guys overacted to such a point that it made me wonder why they got famous in the first place. I was embarrassed for Bo Svenson.
I love westerns but if this is the best 2007 has to offer, hurry up 2008!
