I loved the movie, but...

Did anyone else get the feeling that the writer/director used all of Christopher Guest's films as a crib-sheet? Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed it, but two minutes into it, all I thought about was "Best In Show."

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Still funny, but it kind of ruined some of the humor for me. The "Mary" character really reminded me of almost every character Jennifer Coolidge played in Guests' movies.

This was a failed attempt at a Christopher Guest movie. The idea behind this movie is to come across as a documentary (albeit a fake one). The characters put on too much of a show (and not funny for the most part) for this to happen.
