Michael Moore has competition in mockumentary category

Finally someone gives up something besides Moore's drivel to watch in the mockumentary category!

Just wanted to point out that Moore's films aren't classified as mockumentaries - he doesn't use actors and the whole plot isn't a story someone made up to look like a documentary. His is an actual documentary, just some people believe that he doesn't give all the facts, etc. That however does not make it a mockumentary, it's a documentary with a point of view, just like most other documentaries.

no, the original poster had it right.

Mike Moore has crossed too many lines for his films to be considered documentaries. I can understand that a film maker is going to view his subject to the left or right, it's hard to look at anything straight on. What Moore does is take the information and edits the hell out of it to give his own point of view. I know that all film makers do this to some extent, but what Moore does is edited things like this.

"I love to watch my children play with balls"

and edits it to:

"I love to watch children play with my balls"

I know that is extreme, but if you know the timeline and context, you will see that it fits with what Moore does. To me that is a mockumentary.

In reply to wierd-8

That still don't make his movies "mockumentaries". You can think what you want about Michael Moore and his movies but they ARE "documentaries".

This however IS a mockumentary.

I believe the OP was making a funny.

By Moore's own admission - he does "doctor" his works to make a point. Many of the people he has filmed have had their words changed and edited to make it sound like they were saying something they hadn't. I have seen a few of his interview - and he has admitted to doing this for as he admits "effect".

It may be defined as documentary - but it has fictional overtones none-the-less.

It takes a real idiot to make a statement like that.

lol I agree with you BigHiggaHigga. Comparing Moores work with this movie is ridiculous.
