I hated it. Period. The spoofing was annoying and all the spoofed racial crap made me sick. I found very little funny about the spoofed topic of house hunting, the relationship battles between the couples and the quirkiness of the real estate agents. This movie was wretched, so much so that I had to cut it off about 3/4 of the way in. I couldn't hack watching any more of it. You would have to be a brain dead goat to find this movie enjoyable. The only reason I decided to try and watch the film in the first place was due to some of the comments on IMDB. In the future I'll be much more cautious when taking the advice of users here.

I agree. They were trying way too hard. It was not funny at all.

what do either of you two think of the tv show, The Office? does that show suck?

I can understand if you don't like something and saying it sucks and stuff, but why is it necessary to insult people that do like it? I personally haven't seen it yet but will. I am sure there are things you like that other people don't like.

The movie was hilarious imho. Very anecdotal, but the people I know and have recommended the movie to were either bored by it or loved it. The correlation I have found is the more successful or clever one is the more they like it. Possibly the movie is too smart for people's limited definition of comedy. It's not entirely smart per se, but stuffy people or wes anderson type fans enjoy it.

For what the movie is and its intent I gave it a 9/10. On its own terms, that being a mockumnetary and on an extremely low profile/scale it was near perfect. I am also one who can appreciate dumb and dumber humor. I tend to rate films based on their scale and access to resources. I don't find it better than no country for old men which i gave an 8.

It's a niche comedy, and not for some. It certainly didn't "suck" like rush hour or i now pronounce you chuck and larry.

"It sucked and "it tried to hard" are weak critiques.

Nice post, johnnyx_xcat. I agree. Some people simply just don't get it. I think anyone who enjoys HGTV will love this movie.
