episode 2 of 3rd series question

Did anyone notice that when the man for the school board came to tell Dee that her kids were accepted called her Ruby which was her hooker name? Had he been her client?

I wondered why he said 'sinners like me'.

He was the client who was getting dressed when she was speaking on the phone, also the vicar on the school interview board.

Thank YOU for noticing this. I notices this too. This was the main reason she was accepted, I assume. he turned the tide in her favor. This was in contrast to the father, also her client who could only react to her with disgust and contempt. Notice also the mother in this episode who indicates that she understands how hard it is for a single mother to raise her children and who will do anything to help her children. We should not be easily dismissive of women who are prostitutes without trying to understand them and how they reflect the opportunities for women in our societies.
