I saw it with 3 mates last night. We love all the people in this movie - their radio and TV work is great - but this movie was terrible. There were about 50 people in the cinema and no one laughed for the entire movie. The jokes are not funny and this is not aided by a lack of any comic timing whatsoever. I strongly recommend that you don't see it, although there seem to be people on this board who did enjoy it (god knows how). You have been warned.

Yesterday seems as though it never existed.

I walked out 3/4 of the way through. This movie is total crap. It has the same problem as Crackerjack did. Mick Molloy confuses people talking in Aussie slang, with Aussie comedy.

There are multiple monkeys in my pants.

I really liked it. It might not be as funny as the Molloy Boy's Crackerjack or Bad Eggs by Tony Martin but iff your a fan of these two movies or their other work you should go and see it once. It's subject matter makes it one of those movies you either like or you dont, i think you have to decide for yourself on this one.

I was dissapointed, i like all these actors, but it just seemed like they werent even trying to make this movie funny sometimes. It definitely has its moments, its prbably worth seeing with some mates, but if you want my advice, if you need to choose, go see Departed or something instead

Do not under any circumstance waste money on this movie. It is soooooooooo bad. I honestly had never walked out halfway through a movie until last night when I saw BoyTown. Departed and Little Miss Sunshine are the way to go.

I would suggest checking out the movie and then making up your own mind. It's a parody, and as such it helps if you are familiar with the boyband phenomenon. But I honestly think there's something in there for everybody.

Wait for dvd. I wanted it to be good, but very disappointing. Good cast, but all up, 1 good laugh & a couple of chuckles. Certainly not as good as crackerjack. 5/10

My wife cornered me into going out to see a film last night. Unfortunately, it was one week too early for "Borat" to be release in our local cinema, and my wife's dogmatic preferences are chick flicks or light humour. She's no literati, so most of the other quality films (eg Children of Men) dropped off the list of options so we saw BoyTown.

In short, BoyTown is very disappointing. I like a lot of previous work done by most of the actors in the film, especially Glenn Robbins and Tony Martin. I can't stand Bob Franklin, though. Bob is the only one who thinks he's drly witty.

BoyTown had a few funny visual gags (the shetland ponies) and some of the songs were funny (especially "Special Time of the Month"). Unfortunately there were were a LOT of empty spaces in the film where either the character development was too light or the other visual gags were timed dreadfully. Its not a long film but if felt MUCH longer than it was.

My advice is wait for it to come to free to air TV, or DVD if you must see it earlier.

I really liked it. The songs were the best bits. I cant stand boybands so it was funny to finally see someone taking the piss out of them. I thoroughly enjoyed Crackerjack, but even though I liked this film, it wasn't really up to the standard Crackerjack set. The songs were very funny (especially 'Cellulite Lady' and 'Special Time of the Month').

8.5/10

It felt like they shot a three hour movie and then had to cut it down to 90 minutes. It's full of sub-plots that just appear out of nowhere and aren't properly resolved, and events that should be important character points are given less time than music video parodies. Only three of the main characters actually matter; the others may as well not be there.

It's not terrible or anything, it's just a mess. Could have been up to Crackerjack's standard if it had a proper structure to it.

I thought it sucked big time.

A poor story, badly developed, acted as if on valium.

I didn't find it all all funny.

A sad waste of Sally Phillips and the others, they should have known better.

I think I watched about half an hour then just walked around the house finding things to do to avoid watching the rest of this garbage.
