Who are the real singers

In an interview the guys said that it wasn't their voices, then on the radio I heard Mick Malloy say something about him ripping off Human Nature. Can somebody please tell me who were the voices, and if it Human Nature?

I'm livin in 80's & I don't want to come out

No worries :)

btw, Human Nature thinks the whole concept is funny, and is not at all offended. I happened to go to one of their recent concerts, and I was also present at the filming of Boytown, particularly the concert scenes, and I can vouch for the boys from Boytown being very similar

reply

I think its a rip off, of the Backstreet Boys...

They seem more like the backstreet boys than human nature

Plus human nature is only 4 people boytown is 5

and one of the guys have nick carters old mushroom cut...

reply

The original concept (ie. the sketch for The Mick Molloy Show) was based on Human Nature.

Boytown is based on all boy bands from back in the day, including Backstreet Boys.

i couldnt help noticing how similar "early" boytown sounded [ie the stuff that was meant to be fifteen yeard ago] to NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK

their song "tough titties" sounded heaps like "hangin' tough" by N.K.O.T.B.

did anyone else notice this?

reply

It's OBVIOUSLY New Kids on the Block. Of course all of these boy bands through the decades have repeated the same formula, but the looks, the sound and the names of the songs are NKOTB... also, that part of the story is set in 1989.

reply

sorry mate, maybe you're just heaps older than me. in 1989, i was four. the memories are pretty hazy for me - for you, they're obviously pretty clear.

peace.

It's also worth mentioning that Christian Argenti is the former lead singer of Invertigo (Desensitized and Chances Are were their two major hits).

reply

Bram Presser who did the voice for Mick Molloy's chracter is the lead singer from Yidcore

reply

I think it is more they are basing the band on Duran Duran. Not musically but with the whole Duran Duran reuniting after the early 90s to make an album again.
