Great!

Awesome. To think that this is all done by a bunch of teenagers with a lot of friends and a lot of spare time on their hands. With special effects that rival even hollywood productions and wall to wall spacebattle action, this movie is a blast. It's not all top-notch mind you. Some of the acting is rather poor and there is a decided 'low budget' feel to the live action sequences. But that's all part of the charm of amateur filmmaking. These guys have been at it for quite some time and I've seen all previous 5 episodes of Star Wreck, none of which can be mistaken for actual movies but are kid prank films. This one is different, it has great style, an eye for detail and great humor. Coolest fan-parody of Star Trek ever!

I agree with you, it is a great movie, although, I think it is irratating that most people don't understand what they're saying. If you would learn Finnish you'd realize that the movie is even funnier than you thought.
I have to disagree with you on the acting, I've seen worse, much worse. And the movie is mostly done for fun, so it doesn't matter if anyone acts badly.
Finland rocks! :D

Pirks fits of rage are not in any way overacted... :P
Some things in Finnish filtered down my ears. "Antimatterial reaktoria instabili massa" or whatever. Did you read about the rendering process? 5 years to render. Man...

"There I was...
Mother of God! There I am!"

"Antimateriaali reaktorissa instabiili massa" is easy to translate to english. :)
The best thing about the movie, in my opinion, is that many scenes where filmed
at our university at Tampere (www.tut.fi) and the locations were brilliantly
fitted into the film. For example the fighting on the bridge
going to hangar is really a bridge to the balcony of our auditorium.

I wouldnt really call them teenagers.

For example: Samuli Torssonen - Captain Pirk/producer - 28 years old.

To be honest I don't think this is any good. While the special effects are awesome and even the music is okay, this movie, like nearly all fan fiction movies, suffers from terrible acting and a totally boring story. The movie was described to me as being a parody on Star Trek and Babylon V, but they only use ships and uniforms from those series. I don't think that constitutes a parody. The humor is very childisch. If they spend so much time working on the effects, maybe they should also have spend a week coming up with a decent storyline.

I thought this was also great!
***Contains Spoilers******
I'm not Finnish so I don't understand some of the in jokes, but it's no less harder to watch with sub titles than say a Martial Arts film. Being a Baylon 5 and a Trek Fan I thought some of the sequnces were great. Yes maybe the acting was bad in some scenes and sometimes the name substitution can seem a little tedious and one could even argue the story line was not the best in the world but this is a fan film and its not worse than what the worst episode of B5 or ST:TNG can come up with, including "monster" shows and obvious "Don't Do drugs" episodes.
Best bits for me included Pirk and Sherrypie slugging it out. Sherrypie rolling up his sleeves and Pirk using a double axe handle and chop - Thats attention to detail.
Certianly can't fault the space battles and even these were parodied such as crashing the Kick Start into the Excavator (ST:Nemsis), Pirk pulling of something similar to the OPicard manouver- short warp jump and then attacking the Excavator with....well watch it and see.
I say to those guys who did this - well done and to anyone else that complains, well nobody forced you to watch it and they did give over 5 years of work away for free.
